Shop On Spot is a virtual shopping website, which re-imagines e-commerce by building a virtual mall, with real brands in it, that you can access through the website, says Norane Osman, CEO and founder.
The website offers a 3D virtual tour around shops so that shoppers can splurge from the comfort of their home. Purchased goods are then delivered to their home on the same day, Osman adds.
For retail brands that want to rent their space in this virtual shop, the benefit would be that they will pay very low subscription rates compared to the rental they pay for physical [retail] space, she explains.
A six-month incubation with the DIC provided the startup with office space and mentoring with some of the nation’s top tech experts.
“They turned our dream into a reality,” she says, adding that they gave them the push they needed for their official launch on April 17.
As their incubation period draws to a close, Osman says that the real goal of their participation at QITCOM was to land another incubation period with the DIC.
“We’re pitching to multiple investors out here, but the reality is that we’re pitching for the DIC, and staying with the MOTC (Ministry of Transport and Communications).”
